Ooops! So I have been somewhat bad and failed to blog for a while. Too long, but I had good reason. I did, honest. For the past three years I have spent Christmas with my family in Abu Dhabi and this year was no different. Off I flew in December, bypassing the bitter chill and dark nights in exchange for summer heat and plenty of sand.
Spending Christmas in the heat is bizarre, you lose all concept of Christmas- the cold, wrapping up warm, opening presents round the fire... you also lose all concept of ‘real life’. The work emails, the deadlines and many of the mundane tasks which become a regularity - the those things which you know you should do but time just seems to fast forward and sensible priorities get thrown out the window in favour of sun, sea and sand.
Now I’m back in the Arctic AKA London, I am buying cashmere left right and centre in a bid to keep warm, trying to find a home for my lovely Christmas gifts and holiday buys – The UAE is the shopping Mecca after all and swapping nights out for nights in, wrapped up in patchwork whilst furiously flicking through the pages of Vogue.
So now it’s decided, my rather belated 2012 resolution will be to blog often about all the things I love so get ready, there’s a lot of reading on the way.
